Monday 20th of april

Today was our first day of the internship. On sunday, Petra (the woman we stay with) showed us Valencia and the place of our internship. Solution bike (our internship) is at a walk distance. We walk about 15 minutes to get there, and in the lovely sunny weather of Spain walking there is really nice. When we got there, Lies and I were told one of us could go on a bike tour and the other one would help in the store. We did rock, paper, scissors and Lies won and got to go on the tour. I helped in the store and gave the tourists information about renting a bike and I was allowed to write a contract for them for renting a bike. We were there from 9.30 untill 13.30, because they closed from 2 pm untill 5 pm because of the siesta.

During the siesta, Lies and I had some lunch, and went back to solution bike at 5 pm, to work for 2 hours, untill 7 pm. After the siesta there was no tour so Lies and I could work together. We had to note down the model, number and size of some bikes, and when we finished checking them we had to put a sticker on the bike. This way we checked a big number of bikes. Also, one of the guys who works there, showed us how to help the customers who just returned their bikes.

This first day we learned a lot, we know how we should work and I talked to a lot of tourists. Also, there are 2 guys who work at solution bike, who are both really good at speaking english. The boss of the store is a French guy and he doesn't speak english, but by using our hands and a little knowledge of French we can manage to understand him and communicate with him.
Over all, I really enjoyed my first day of my internship because the people who work there are really nice and it is a really nice experience to be in Spain and talk to the tourists.
